One of these now exist Tooth Fairy or Mail??

Well, power of the people does exist!  Last night at 2200 our mail arrived, at least a large portion did.  It was glorious!  Christmas in December, wait Christmas does come in December.  All of the sugar that I ingested last night may be causing some mental issues for me.  We ran around like 4 year olds on a sugar high and it was awesome, most of them are still passed out right now from the hyperactivity.

I have taken shower on the half hour every hour, with a cup of coffee and homemade cookie, since the mail came.

CPT W's box did arrive 30 days after being mailed from Kabul.

Many of you emailed or commented on the blog that you would be contacting your government representatives regarding our not so little problem.  It worked. Mail never gets here this late in the evening and the bird that got here was packed with just mail for the team.  An HIP helicopter can hold a ton of mail and it was packed.

The highlight of the evening was that one of my NCOs received a package that was sent last May. He was happy to get it as this was only the second time he's gotten mail since he's been here, he's due to rotate back home next week.  That shows how bad things are here.

I'm firmly convinced that it was everyone's efforts that helped us out.  I know that several of you contacted the Senior Senator from our state, I suppose it helps greatly when the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee calls to ask about our mail.  It sure worked this time.

To everyone who sent us stuff or is sending stuff, thank you so very much.  I know that through efforts of Bouhammer, Web of Support, Soldiers Angels,Starbucks and just plain extraordinary Americans there's more on the way.  It means a great deal to us, if you could have seen the look in the guys eyes last night!   Every time we get something from home it reminds us that there's life beyond the war, which at times is very hard to fathom.

An additional note, some of you have questioned the veracity of claims that Chuck Norris was created from a rib of John Waynes.  This is completely true!  You may ask yourself, "But what is actually strong enough to break one of John Waynes ribs"?  He is! He did it himself and all of Chuck Norris' powers are derived in there of.  Please do not continue to question this, I say this purely for your own safety.  If you do you may be visited by Chuck Norris and he will be very upset!

Santa original OPORD still in effect.  I'm now convinced that Santa will show up!  Ambush on mail operations is canceled for time being.

Proof that democracy has arrived in Afghanistan!  I'll be using our scenario to demonstrate to the ANA that the will of the people can not be thwarted by incompetence.  In the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln, "Government of, by and for the people shall not perish from this earth".  Well President Lincoln I raise a honey bun and a piece of beef jerkey in toast to that!

    Dear Vampire 06,
Very funny and entertaining. I want to send you something to share with the troops, our music.
Please visit our site and have a look and listen to "I Believe in America" (YouTube video on the homepage) and "I'm Alive", a song about one soldier's journey to Afghanistan, link can be found on the Music & Lyrics page.
This is our way of showing our support of the troops, their families, and their friends.
It's a little bit faster than the mail and we hope that you enjoy it just as much.

Take care and God Bless to all of you.

    Sandi

Found your site today and laughed and shook my head. It makes an impact over here and hopefully an impact there, as you said- helping you stay sane in an insane situation. I love the hammer to hand reference in particular.
Not sure if I'm being dumb--- (clean words for nephews) but you mentioned receiving support- how can something be sent to (maybe) reach you and if such items were to reach you and what would be helpful?
Looking forward to following you through this! Sending props to your family as well- want them to know they are thought of as well.

DOn't feel bad, the mail situation has NOT changed in 30+ years... We had the same problems. My personal record was getting a package 3 years late, which turned out to be a Birthday card; the rest of the packaging was all the resend/forward/he's not here stamps and other junk...
